Spring break is here.

You ready to enjoy Nassau?!

Before You Go

Flight Information

If you have purchased your flight with Campus Vacations, please read the following:

  • Check your flight details on your profile order details page.
  • If applicable for your airline, try to check-in online and pre-pay for your baggage fees 24 hours before your flight, if available!
  • Arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior (no later than 2 hours) to your flight departure time and ensure adequate time to obtain your boarding pass and clear security.
  • Go to the airline check-in counter.
  • Present your valid passport to the ticketing agent.
  • You may be asked for the airline Record Locator, which is in the details section of your Nassau
  • Spring Break 2020 order on your account.
  • Receive a boarding pass and proceed to your assigned gate for departure.

IMPORTANT – Flight information is subject to change from time to time without advance notice. As a result, we strongly advise that you confirm your flight information 24 hours in advance of your scheduled departure. Be sure to note the most recent information, especially flight times, flight numbers, and check-in procedures and requirements.

Baggage & Passport Information

Many airlines have recently changed their policies regarding checked baggage limitations and fees. Check with your airline’s website to learn more about the baggage fees that may apply to you. Please make sure all bags have ID tags on them with your full name.

Make sure your passport information has been updated on the Passport Information tab in your Campus Vacations account. Make sure your information is correct and up to date! Some countries require that your passport be valid at least six months beyond the dates of your trip. Some airlines will not allow you to board if this requirement is not met.

Consider the following scenario: A country requires that you have at least six months of validity on your passport. You currently have seven months of validity on your passport. However, your trip is two months from now. At that point, you will only have five months of validity remaining on your passport which is not enough to satisfy that country’s entry requirements. In this situation, you would need to renew your passport before you can make your trip. See here for more information: https://travel.gc.ca/travelling

As you start your descent into the city, your flight attendant will pass out an immigration form that you must fill out in its entirety. After you land, you will proceed to the customs area. You will present your passport along with the immigration form to the customs agent who could then ask you a series of questions before approving and stamping your passport and the immigration form.
The customs agent will return your passport along with the immigration form receipt. We recommend storing this small receipt inside your passport (or a safe place) for safekeeping as this document is required at the airport in order for you to return home.

Travel Tips

You can exchange money before you depart for Nassau or you may wait until you get into Nassau before exchanging money. The US dollar works everywhere in Nassau. However, we do recommend that you bring plenty of small bills as change in dollars can sometimes be difficult to find.

Please remember to tip your servers and bartenders as a few dollars can go a long way.

Please keep your hotel and program wristbands on at all times. It not only identifies you as a part of our group for access to special package inclusions and preferred entry to bars and clubs, but it’s also used for security purposes, emergency identification by the local authorities, hospitals, etc. We definitely expect you to have a great time, but please do so responsibly and remember that our crew members are here to help if you have a problem or any special needs.

Although it’s a safe destination, we recommend that you avoid bringing valuable jewelry or other valuable items.

For added security, your hotel offers lock-boxes and in-room safes for additional purchase.

We recommend that you bring the following items:

  • Passport
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Basic toiletries
  • Hat or visor
  • A light jacket or sweater for breeze at night
  • Bathing suit for beach or pool
  • Lightweight, light-colored clothes for daytime
  • Lightweight clothes and/or clubwear for nighttime
  • Sandals or flip-flops
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Money for souvenirs
  • Small bills for tipping
  • Proof of primary medical insurance
  • Any other items you may need

We recommend that you DO NOT bring the following items:

  • Expensive watches or jewelry
  • Expensive bags or purses
  • Expensive shoes or sneakers
  • Anything of high monetary or sentimental value

We will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.

We will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.

The dress code is very casual. You can go just about anywhere during the daytime in a t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops. However, at night we recommend long pants and sleeves (no tank tops) for men, also leave your hat and sandals at the resort, hats are NOT allowed in any of the clubs! Men need to have closed-toed shoes and depending on the venue, need to be wearing dress shoes. Confirm with staff on-site in terms of dress code.

You must have your 18+ government ID with you at ALL TIMES. Most of the bars require an ID to gain entry during Spring Break.

If you have any questions, send us an email at info@campusvacations.com and keep a lookout for our Campus Vacation team in !

We look forward to seeing you there!

🍹Drink Responsibly

Pace yourself – Spring Break is a marathon, not a sprint. Make sure you enjoy the entire week and don’t overdo it on the first day and ruin your trip!

Avoid getting dehydrated in the heat by drinking an even ratio of water and alcohol.

Don’t be that person that misses some of the best nights out because you didn’t look after yourself in the day!

Don’t accept drinks from strangers and always keep your drink in hand. Don’t leave it on a table while you go to the bathroom – you never know who might have touched it!

You can drink in public, as long as the beverage is in a plastic container – that means no glass bottles. If you’ve bought a bottle of beer at a club and you want to leave with it, ask them for a plastic cup – it will save you getting a ticket!

🚓Follow The Law

Nassau’s generally a conservative and Catholic city. This means you should watch your language and act respectfully, especially around children or the elderly.

👕Nudity: Ladies, keep your tops on. Guys, keep your shorts up. You will be addressed by local authorities if caught.

🚽Public urination: If caught you will get arrested and/or fined on the spot. Fines can reach up to $1000+

💊Drugs: Bahamian authorities enforce a zero-tolerance policy on drugs. It is not a misdemeanor, it is a federal offense. You will not go to jail, but straight to Bahamian federal prison. Try to steer clear from anyone trying to sell you drugs around town. This includes illegal drugs and knock-off pharmaceuticals.

The US dollar is accepted everywhere in Nassau.

We recommend calling your bank before using your card in Nassau, as some banks will flag the charge and cut off purchases if not notified in advance.

Be mindful when using the ATMs around town. We would recommend only using the ATMs at our partnered hotel properties, and at official banks rather than ATMs located on street corners.

  • Keep your belongings safe
  • Don’t bring excessively expensive items
  • Leave your passport and immigration form receipt in your room
  • Utilize the safe in your room
  • Keep your door/balcony locked
  • Don’t lose your room key
  • General safety tips
  • Stay within the tourist areas
  • Always travel as a group, especially at night
  • Opt for bottled water

Use common sense and use your best judgment at all times at your hotel. Make sure to close your doors all the way when leaving your room, do not dive into pools head first, sit on your hotel balcony railing, etc
